David joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers on their Investment graduate program in 1998 after studying Economics at the University of Warwick.
He moved to the small / mid-cap biased European Specialist team one year later, having enjoyed a year focused on US small caps. As team deputy head he was co-manager for the launch of a suite of long / short products across European and Swiss strategies after the BlackRock merger, before moving to the European team in 2013.
In May 2017 his responsibilities were expanded to the European Absolute return strategy, while he continued to run the European Opportunities Extension fund and the Swiss strategies Swiss Opportunities and Aletsch.
By the time of his departure he was Managing Director and deputy head of the European team. While a fund manager for twenty years, he maintained varied research responsibilities throughout, including a consistent coverage of European healthcare names.

Shane started his career as a fund accountant with RBC Dexia before joining a start up hedge fund where he was responsible for the non-investment side of the business.
He joined BlackRock in 2006 where he built and ran the Prime Brokerage and Financing business until he left in 2018. During his time at BlackRock he was also responsible for global equity financing and a member of the European trading oversight committee.
Since leaving BlackRock he has consulted with asset managers and hedge funds. Most recently he held the position of Chief Revenue Officer with Elwood Technologies.

Martin started his career in 2005 at Goldman Sachs in London after completing a bachelor’s degree in marketing at ZHAW in Zurich.
He joined BlackRock Zurich in 2007. In his 13 years at BlackRock, he held several roles, most recently as Deputy Head Wholesale Switzerland.
In 2021 he joined Lombard Odier Investment Managers as Head Wholesales Switzerland.

Martin started his career at BlackRock in Zurich as a Business Manager in the mutual fund sales team in 2014 after completing an MSc in marketing at Imperial College London.
In 2018 he joined Ringier Advertising as Head Sales Steering, Media Consulting and Media Intelligence.
Most recently, he joined Lombard Odier Investment Managers in 2021 as Senior Sales & Co-lead Wholesale Zurich, responsible for the German speaking market in Switzerland.

Alistair joined the BlackRock Fundamental Active Equity graduate programme in 2014 after studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Warwick.
His first rotation was with the European Equity team and, after completing his second year in Hong Kong on the Asia Equity Team, he joined them in 2016 in their Edinburgh office. Over his time there he took on responsibility for covering various sectors including business services, leisure, transportation, and media.
In 2019 he joined Walter Scott & Partners where he worked for 4 years as an Investment Manager in a generalist, global research role whilst also being responsible for managing a segregated client account.

John joined the Goldman Sachs Operations graduate scheme in 2015 after completing a masters in chemistry at the University of Oxford.
Post Goldman, he worked for four years in operations at a macro-focussed investment manager, expanding to also cover the risk function. Whilst there he completed the Certificate in Quantitative Finance.
More recently he has held a broad non-investment position at a multi-manager investment firm, with a remit covering operations, risk, legal, and compliance. The firm managed Cayman and Irish AIFs, as well as Irish and UK domiciled UCITS funds. He was a member of the Risk and IT committees.

Steven interned at The Children’s Investment (TCI) Fund in 2010 while completing his mathematics studies at Imperial College London. From there he joined Pensato Capital, a European hedge fund spun-out of Fidelity, where he focused on the consumer and healthcare sectors.
In 2017 he joined Tesco Pension Investment as a Fund Manager having previously expanded his remit to become a global generalist. The Global Equity Fund held £6.5bn of the DB assets across 50 holdings and delivered top decile performance.
In 2019 he co-founded High Ground Investment Management, a concentrated European hedge fund, with a former colleague from TCI. Steven joins with 14 years of investing experience in long/short and long-only settings.
